This is a great annual event held in Valley Forge, PA. It’s a beautiful location with access to the Medal of Honor Grove that has a load of information about our country’s MOH recipients. There are military encampments & vehicles to see, a flea market area to purchase genuine military items, rest room facilities and food vending onsite. There are staged battles throughout the day. A very family friendly event!
This will be a new event for us this year. I have heard it is a very big car show with a lot of collectible cars in all types of categories.
We will be taking our WWII Willys Jeep and Mini Jeep. Please say hello if you decide to come!
The West Grove, PA Memorial Day Parade is usually held on the Saturday before Memorial Day. It starts at the Avon Grove High School and proceeds down State street to Prospect Ave. and ends at the intersection of Prospect and Evergreen in the center of town. It’s a well attended parade and finishes with a very nice ceremony in town. After the ceremony, they usually have a small car show and get together at the West Grove Presbyterian Church. This is a great parade and if you are in the area, we highly recommend attending it.
This is one of the largest and oldest memorial day parades in our area.
Over 1000 participants gather to honor those who sacrificed their lives for our country.
Vehicles, bands, antique cars, military vehicles, veterans, organizations…etc.
Kennett Square is a small community, but this event is huge!
There is a nice ceremony in the local grave yard immediately following the parade.
This is one of the country’s largest and best WWII events. Located in Reading, PA, the World War II Weekend hosts thousands of WWII re-enactors (civilian and military) from almost every major country that participated in WWII. They also have an impressive line up of WWII planes on display and flying throughout the event. The last 2 flying B-29 super fortresses (Doc & Fifi) will be there this year! There are WWII veteran meet and greets, staged battles and a huge militaria flea market. If you’ve never been….just go, you won’t regret it. Check out our Reading WWII Weekend page for more info and pictures!
Great place to visit even when Airfest isn’t happening. Lots of hands on things for the kids to see and touch. During airfest, groups like Stahlhelms bring military vehicles and displays not normally seen at the museum. You can also purchase rides in some of the WWII planes.
Some planes and helicopters flying, but mostly a static ground show. They have a car show too, so well worth the trip. You also only a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, so make a day of it! It’s free and you can come by and say hi to us as we always take the WWII Jeep and award winning Mini Jeep.
Great show over the water between 6th and 14th st in Ocean City, NJ. Best places to watch are the boardwalk and the beach. From vintage warbirds to modern acrobatic planes to some more modern jet fly-bys. Depending on the weather (wind), they sometimes have a parachute jump team as well as a staged air and sea rescue. It’s free….at the beach…what more could you ask for?
